Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named.  In his book “Return to Life through Contrology”, Joseph Pilates presents his method as the art of controlled movements, which should look and feel like a workout (not a therapy) when properly manifested. If practiced with consistency, Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. The core, consisting of the muscles of the abdomen, low back, and hips, is often called the "powerhouse" and is thought to be the key to a person's stability. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginner to advanced or to any other level, and also in terms of the instructor and practitioner's specific goals and/or limitations. Intensity can be increased over time as the body adapts itself to the exercises.

What we do in class: These classes are tailor made, and focus on each clients individual needs and goals. Focusing on providing our clients with strong, goal oriented classes that uphold the integrity of the Pilates Principles. It is great for people of all ages and fitness levels. Don’t be fooled by that calm environment and slow precise movements, Pilates can challenge you on a variety of different levels. This class is guaranteed to develop ultimate strength and stability Particularly through the core, including the lumbo-pelvic region. We work in all planes of movement to ensure that your muscles are lengthening and toning three dimensionally. These dynamic classes incorporate a wide variety of props including: foam rollers, stability balls, arc barrels, spine correctors, stability cushions, toning balls, flex bands and fitness circles.

THERAPY MAT

What we do in class: Therapy classes focus on activating and strengthening the deep core and stabilising muscles. This is to establish a strong and conditioned base so that you can enjoy pain-free movement and continuing with the sports you love.

 

Reformer

Our Reformer classes focus on endurance and core strength while improving the body’s stamina and agility. As the Reformer is an extremely versatile machine – we offer a variety of classes on it, ranging from beginner to classes aimed at the elite athlete.

 

Our Reformer Fundamental classes focus on an introduction to the machine and the grounding PILATES principles. Reformer Elevate is an intermediate, fast-paced class that challenges the full body. Our most intense classes are Dynamic Reformer and Athletic Reformer – both of which are music driven and guaranteed to make you sweat! Dynamic Reformer is a strength based class and Athletic Reformer is more cardio based – both providing a fantastic challenge to clients. It is recommended that you try a Fundamentals/ Elevate class prior to joining a Dynamic/ Athletic Reformer class. 

 

Get with The Flow

A full-body workout that builds a strong foundation for beginners. This class will target the basics of Reformer Pilates by building up the proper alignment and form to build that mind-body connection. 


Mind over Matter

A high-energy, low impact workout with plyometrics that are easy on the joints. Get your heart rate up with the Pilates jump board and all the fun movements you can engage in.
